A boater’s safety course will be held April 24 and 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Silver Lake Village Hall.
The course, sponsored by the Village of Silver Lake Water Patrol and the state Department of Natural Resources, will teach the basics of boating and relevant laws and regulations.
Wisconsin boating safety certification or out of state equivalent certification is required for operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1989 and at least 16 years of age. Operators 12 to 15 years of age must either have a certificate or have an adult on board while operating. Anyone 10 years of age or older is eligible to take the class and receive a safety education completion certificate. The certificate does not become valid until the child reaches 12 years of age.
Fee is $10 per student.
