Katie S. Neis became the newest part-time police officer with the Twin Lakes Police Department during a ceremony Tuesday.
Neis was sworn in at the police station by village administrator David Cox with family members and friends, members of the Police Commission, members of the Lake Geneva Police Department and current members of Twin Lakes Police Department in attendance.
Neis graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine and attended Gateway Technical College for her state certification.
Neis also works part-time for the Lake Geneva Police Department in various job duties and currently as a seasonal foot patrol officer.
Neis’s mother, Susan Fesko, pinned her daughter’s badge on her uniform during the ceremony.
Neis will be in field training until July 2010. After that, she will be assigned as a part-time patrol officer.
Its nice to see that Twin Lakes has finally added a female officer to the force. Its also nice that her mom was present for the swearing in, as well as some members of the Lake Geneva police department. She’s been a great officer in LG for years now.
I know Officer Neis personally, and I am confident that she will be an excellent addition to the Twin Lakes Police Department. They are lucky to have her, and all of your family in Racine is SO PROUD!!!
