Wilmot High School Go Pink Soccer coverage

Wilmot’s opponent on the field for the JV and varsity soccer games yesterday evening was Racine Park, but the real battle was against breast cancer.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to women fighting breast cancer.

Besides the soccer games, there were a variety of other fun activities at Frank Bucci Field including: a display of fire equipment from the Randall and Salem Fire/Rescue Wilmot station, children’s games and activities, raffles and Go Pink Soccer merchandise available for purchase. Former Green Bay Packer Star Frank Winters was there and he signed purchased items and two players form the Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team also were present.

The teams also wore special pink themed uniforms.

The Go Pink! Girls’ High School Soccer Series was launched last spring. More than 80 schools participated in the fund-raising games in the inaugural year, and more than 100 are expected to be part of the program this spring.
