Units responding to Brighton field fire

At 2:34 p.m., units from the Kansasville Fire Department and Silver Lake Rescue are responding to a report of a small  fire in the 30100 block of Highway 142, Brighton.

Dispatch reports that the fire is small and no structures are near the scene.

UPDATE 2:42 p.m. — Fire is on the south side of Highway 142, likely inside Bong State Recreation Area. No scheduled controlled burn at the park today, dispatch reports.

UPDATE 2:46 p.m. — Salem Fire/Rescue and Silver Lake Fire Department also dispatched to the scene. Bong officials responding with a pick-up truck with water as well.

UPDATE 2:51 p.m. — The ATV from the Salem/Rescue Wilmot Station is being dispatched to the scene. The Silver Lake six-wheeler is responding as well.

UPDATE 2:59 p.m. — Deputies shutting down traffic along Highway 142 between B and J.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m. — Paris Fire Department is being called to the scene with a grass truck and manpower.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m. — Fire reported to be mostly “knocked down.”
