A series of  twice monthly car shows at a village business — which debuted last year — has won approval for another year.

George Hockney and the Bristol 45 Diner made the request to stage car shows with a DJ playing ’50s and ’60s music on the first and third Mondays of the month. The shows would start in May and continue through September.

“I believe last year we had a really good response,” Hockney said at Monday’s Bristol Village Board meeting. “I didn’t have any complaints from citizens.”

Board members seemed to agree that the events were well run.

“They’re very orderly, very well done,” said village President Richard Gossling.

The board unanimously approved the request to host the shows.

The shows for this year were moved from the second and fourth Mondays to the first and third Mondays to avoid the date of village and town board meetings. When the shows and meeting were on the same date last year, there sometimes were parking problems, Gossling said.
