Paris town officials are not ready yet to act on a noise ordinance that could address complaints about Great Lakes Dragaway.
Town Board members told a full house Tuesday at Town Hall that they were still gathering information on the topic.
“There’s still more information to be gathered and conversations that have to take place,” said town Chairman Virgil Gentz at Tuesday’s regular month board meeting.
The town has received a noise study of levels coming fr0m the drag strip from a consultant.
Several residents spoke about the issue during citizens comments. Gentz thanked them for giving their opinion and said he also has been receiving communications from people who live outside the town, but have opinions on the dragaway.
Board members did not indicate when the issue might move forward. But Supervisor Ron Kammerzelt pointed out that the dragaway does not operate in the winter.
“We have all winter to decide what we’re going to do and how we’re going to do it,” Kammerzelt said.
Racing is scheduled to begin again at the track in April.
