The work to revise and update all the various documents that regulate lakes within Salem will continue today with a meeting of the relatively new Lakes Committee.
The committee met for the first time Jan. 4. It is made up of representatives of the lake districts within the town and three members of the Town Board.
At the last meeting, lake regulations were reviewed page by page and comments from interested parties considered, said town Chairman Linda Valentine. Those attending were then asked to go back to their individual constituencies in the town’s lake districts to gather further opinion.
At Monday’s meeting, that feedback will be reviewed, Valentine said.
The committee could have an overhauled set of lake regulations ready for the Town Board to consider by this summer, she said.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.
