Flood warning issued for Fox River

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Fox River.

The river crept over the flood stage of 10 feet Sunday at the New Munster measuring station. The river is forecast to peak at about 11.5 feet Wednesday before beginning to recede.

The good news is that there is no rain in the forecast for the next few day. However, it could snow some today, less than an inch during the day and less than an inch again tonight, the weather service says. And the warmer temps we have been enjoying for about a week should disappear too. By the end of the week highs are forecast to be back in the teens.
