Quotable: Don’t go all foo-fooey on us now

“I don’t think I want to tell 198 families that we’re going to have some foo-fooey table and they have to go to The Sharing Center.”

Paddock Lake village Trustee Karen Harris during discussion of whether the village should spend $3,500 for the construction of a desk and podium system for the Village Board to sit at during meetings. Currently the board sits at folding tables with panels attached to the front of the table legs. The proposal, made by Trustee Terry Burns, was rejected in a 3-to-3 vote.

I think it is a disgrace that the village would raise the rent for the sharing center ( a very well respected member of the community) and yet pay $3500 for something THEY DON’T NEED!!!!!! This is not a community of large caliber like Chicago or New York! This is a small village. They can get by with what they have for now. Don’t say we’re trying to save money, then decide to spend $3500 just for some desks!! Ridiculous!
