The Twin Lakes Village Board has approved the purchase of a new piece of equipment for the Fire Department.

The purchase of a Pierce Arrow XT Heavy Duty Aluminum Aerial Ladder vehicle for $640,000 from Reliant Fire Apparatus of Cedarburg was approved Monday.

The new truck, when delivered, will replace the village’s current 1989 Pierce Arrow aerial ladder truck, said David Cox, village administrator.

The truck was financed through the issuing of general obligation promissory notes.

The price paid was about $35,000 less than anticipated at budget time, Cox said.
