The Central High School Falcons were hosted by the Brookfield East Spartans Tuesday night in the second game in the Lavern Luebstorf Christmas Tournament.

The Falcons went out to a quick 7-0 lead on a 3-pointer by Austin Damaschke, and buckets from Erik Richter and Spencer McCoy. The Falcons ended up with a first quarter lead of 15-9.

In the second quarter, the Spartans cut into the lead with some pinpoint inside passing and took advantage of their size, scoring easy layups. Central kept the Spartans at bay, with Mike Michelau and Dustin Milz scoring in the quarter to keep them ahead 20-17.

The third was a bit of a seesaw, but saw the home team Spartans cut the Falcon lead to just a point at 31-30. Midway through the fourth quarter C.J. Gregg stole a pass and went more than half court and finished off with a resounding dunk. This seemed to fire up the Spartans who took control and outscored the Falcons 14-6 in the stanza to finish with a 44-37 victory.

Central was led by two players off the bench, Milz with 11 and Michelau with 10. The Spartans were led by Gregg with 10 and Darius Barnes with 10.

Central plays in the consolation game at 5:45 p.m., today against Waukesha South. The Spartans play against the Horlick Rebels in the championship game.
