The Burlington Demons hosted the Central Falcons Tuesday in an SLC clash.
The temperature was not the only thing cold that night, as the Falcons got off to a slow start falling behind a hot shooting Demon squad 18-8 after the first quarter. The Demons played the Falcons tight on defense, pressing full court and Central had a tough time getting into the offense, due to turnovers, and fell behind 33-22 at the half. Despite Mike Michelau scoring 5 points in the second quarter, and Dustin Milz repeatedly taking the ball to the basket, the Demons outscored the Falcons 15-14 in the quarter.
In the third quarter the Falcons cut the Demons lead to 6 but could get no closer the rest of the game and dropped the contest 55-42. The Falcons, led by Milz’s 13 and Michelau’s 7, are now 1-4 on the season and 1-2 in the conference. The Demons, led by Cody Dillon’s 13 and Nate Brandt’s 12 points, are 3-2 and 2-1 in the SLC.
Next up for the Falcons is West Bend East in West Bend on Thursday in a non-conference match-up.
