The annual live nativity at Oakvue Farm in Bristol held two showings tonight.
Here is some video of parts of this west of the I tradition from the early showing Friday night.
Ed Gillmore advises the audience about some of the unique aspects of the program, tells a joke and then begins the program:
The choir sets the scene for the beginning of the story:
Turned away from the inn, Joseph and Mary find shelter in a stable:
The live nativity ends with the audience joining in a verse of Joy to the World:
Wonder if those animals are real? Go take a closer look afterwards:
There will be two more showings Saturday night, if you’d like to see this in person. Showings start at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. Saturday. The farm is located at 14700 104th St. (Highway Q) about 1.5 miles west of the Interstate 94.
I would love for your gentle animals to be in our Christmas play at church for inner city children in Milwaukee who have never seen live animals. Or can you recommend a farm who would bring the animals.
Please provide me with more information. Thank you.
I have come to your Live Nativity every year on Saturdays, the last 23 years, with my Granddaughters. First 1, and she’s 30 now, my 19 yr old, 15 yr old, and my 13 yr old! It is a tradition every year, and are very moved by the Nativity! I, myself, liked it even more years ago, when there were less people and we sat on haystack or pews! I live at Rainbow Manor Mtg Homes on 128th Street in Bristol, just west of Rt 45.
The reason I am emailing you is that there’s a song, HALLELUJAH (Christmas version), that I would like you to hear. It is very moving. I was wondering if you might incorporate it into your Nativity. I have it on my Facebook Page and I could send it to you, somehow, thru, maybe, email, if I could find out how. I’m illiterate when it comes to these Tablets I am using. Or we could make an appointment to have you come here, or me to come there (I am housebound, but get out occasionally)! I’m sure you would like the song, and you have the instruments and singers to play it. It would be another amazing hymn for the audience. There must be other hymns you might have been told about but HALLELUJAH (Christmas version) is different. Please consider contacting me by email -scooterroach@yahoo.com – or phone – 857-2696.
God be with you and your lovely family! Diane Roach
