Snow update: Low end of predicted range

snow-sxc-webSnow fall as of 5:50 a.m. seems to definitely have been on the low end of what was predicted. Since 9:30 p.m., at the West of the I weather railing, we measured another half inch of accumulation. That would be a total of  3.75 inches since this snow event started.

Providence Catholic School has apparently announced that it is closing for today, but other schools appear to be open as of 5:58 a.m.

There is still more snow in the National Weather Service forecast, with another 2 to 4 inches accumulation possible. Perhaps of more concern is the forecast of windy conditions developing later today, which could make visibility difficult. Air temperatures also are forecast to drop today, with a low of 2 tonight and a high of only 10 Thursday. Wind chills could be in the -15 range tonight and tomorrow.
