The fourth annual Trees on Parade and  Holiday Shopping will be held Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12 at Rumpoles Banquet Hall, 352 E. Main St.  The second annual holiday parade will be Saturday, Dec. 12. Both events are organized by the Twin Lakes Area Chamber and Business Association.

Trees on Parade is a room full of holiday trees created and decorated by area businesses, organizations and individuals. During the event the public is asked to vote on their favorite tree.

Wandering amongst the trees, you will find nestled under their festive boughs, a wonderful selection of gift ideas and items for sale. This is the time to shop and find that special or unique gift.

Entertainment is provided by local church and school groups as well as by individuals. Bake sales and a raffle help to round out the event. As in the past, the great vendors/crafters will be donating an item to the raffle table. Raffle winners will be drawn at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

This year the Children’s Contest is being sponsored by Bahr & Kadlec, Ltd.

Food and beverages also will be available for purchase.

Lists  of sponsors, crafter/vendors and entertainment are here.

The hours for Trees on Parade are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The parade will take place starting at 5:30 p.m. The route will take the brightly lit units from Lance Park down Main Street toward Rumpoles. Parade winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. at Rumpoles.

The parade sponsor for 2009 is Vickie Bushnell State Farm Insurance.
