The Second Annual Southeast Wisconsin Rural Landowner Conference, offering opportunities for rural landowners and small farmers as well as individuals who are considering a farm enterprise, is taking place today at the Kenosha County Center, Highways 45 and 50, Bristol.
The conference includes a farmer’s market and trade show from 8 until 1 p.m. The market is was outside, but the weather is was great.
The conference was hosted by the UW-Extension Service.

Jill Thompson of Pineview Farms (left) and Katelyn Gollberg of Larryville Farms were at the farmer's market. Pineview Farms was offering cheese and Larryville Farms heirloom squash.
The keynote speaker for the conference was John Holloway, Paris Plan Commission chairman and fifth generation farmer. Holloway had some interesting things to say about farm land preservation in Kenosha County and elsewhere.
