The New Mattel Toy Store in Wilmot will hold its grand opening on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The store will have the world’s most popular brands under one roof and is located at the American Girl complex at 12400 Fox River Rd, Wilmot, Wisconsin. Regional director Jeff Toboyek said the store will carry a wide variety of Mattel products such as Fisher Price, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Tyco R/C, and Power Wheels. The inventory includes current hot toys and closeouts from previous toy lines. Toboyek said the store will try to get a sampling of just about every toy.
The public is invited to attend the grand opening program which begins at 9:00 a.m. in the store. The program will include local elected officials, members of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, American Girl and Mattel dignitaries and the official ribbon cutting.
For the kids, Sonya Lee and Little Eddie from the Little People are scheduled to be in attendance. The Kenosha Police Department will be on hand to offer activities for the children.
The Grand Opening Sale will give customers 25 percent off store wide. Cookies, pastries and punch will be served throughout the day, and there will be a chance to win several $100 shopping sprees at the Mattel Toy Store just in time for Christmas.
The store, which will be open to the public at least through mid-January will maintain regular retail hours and features a limited selection of American Girl books and magazines.
The 7,000 square-foot store is one of three seasonal locations to be added across the country.
“The American Girl location makes sense for one of our stores because we already own the site and have adequate space for the operation,†Toboyek said. “It’s also a tremendous benefit for the community.â€
