It seems like it’s been forever since anyone was concerned about the level of the Fox River. After the June 19 storm, there were not a lot of significant rain events to bump up the river all summer.
But the steady rain of recent weeks has caused the river to finally to start to rise. As of this morning it was at 8.6 feet at the New Munster observation station, still a bit below the action stage of 9 feet. Flood stage starts at 10 feet.
