Salem Booster Club 5K Run/Walk coverage

The chill in the air Saturday morning didn’t deter the participants in the Salem Booster Club 5k Run/Walk. The enthusiasm was clear for the race and the organization it benefited.

The booster club is now funding and organizing sports and extracurricular activities at the school after district funding was cut following four failed referendums in the last year. The event was a fundraiser for the group.

Runners and walkers followed a course that started and ended at the school and took them west and back east on Highway AH.

Apparently the crowd looked like it was having so much fun that a horse at a residence adjacent to the course broke out of its pen and mingled with some of the participants, many runners/walkers reported.

Bobble head trophies were awarded to the top finishers in four categories: boys, girls, male, female. Here are the names and times.
