Chief Peter Parker unveiled a new flag for the Bristol Fire Department at the Town Board meeting Monday night.
The flag was designed by Bristol firefighter Chris Medlock. The Bristol Fire Association will pay for a pole to display the flag outside the fire station adjacent to Town Hall.
Parker explained to the Town Board that the Maltese cross in the design is an ancient symbol that is a traditional fire department symbol. The 52 refers to the Bristol station’s identifier. The department’s founding year and MABAS system division also are incorporated in the design.
