Randall residents will be able to drop off leaves from their yards this year.

The drop-off point will be 8900 328th Ave. (Highway JI) on Oct. 24 and 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The site is located about one mile north of Highway F on the farm of town Supervisor Robert Gehring.

Grass, small twigs, leaves and plants will be accepted. Containers such as bags or boxes may not be left at the site.

Participants must be Randall residents. No contractor disposal will be allowed.

The material will be composted on a field on Gehring’s farm.

At Thursday’s Town Board meeting town Chairman Bob Stoll asked that Gehring produce a certificate of insurance naming the town as covered in case of problems. Gehring agreed to obtain the document.

This is the first time for such a program in Randall and Stoll praised the committee that worked on it, made of Supervisors Rose Nolan, Mark Halvey and Gehring.

“It’s a great idea,” Stoll said.

There is a chance weather conditions might change the day or location slightly. In that case another announcement will be made. Information about the drop-off can be obtained by calling Town Hall at 877-2165.
