Lakeland Little League is now offering a girls tournament/travel team.
To be eligible, players must be playing in the regular Lakeland season. All Lakeland players are invited to try out for this team, especially if they are interested in playing at another level.
This is not a full travel team. The team is only expecting to compete in five tournaments with the possibility of hosting its own tournament. Also, the team will be competing in tournaments that are being held within an hour drive of Western Kenosha County. Participants will be able to get tournament experience and show the talent of the Lakeland Girls Softball program.
There will be three different age groups, 10U, 12U and 14U.
Tryouts will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Sorensen Fields, Central High School, Paddock Lake. Rain date is Oct. 10.
Tryout times are as follows:
- 10U — noon to 1:30 p.m.
- 12U — 1:30 to 3 p.m.
- 14U — 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Those trying out are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time to make sure they are registered, warmed up and ready to go.
