Jazz Wave will close out this season of Concerts in the Park Sunday in Silver Lake.
The concert begins at 5 p.m. in Schmalfeldt Park.
Jazz Wave, led by Jeff Lang, will be making its 10th appearance in the series, said village Trustee Ann Augustin, who organizes the concerts.
“They were the original performers when the concerts began in 1997 and everyone who has heard them over the year always requests their return,” Augustin said. “They play sets that include everything from big band to swing, show tunes, soul and blues. What a fantastic way to close the season.”
The Silver Lake Rescue Squad will offer brats and hot dogs and soft drinks for sale.
Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
“As we are late in the season, you might need a light jacket if the weather is cool, but cool or not it promises to be a great evening,” Augustin said.
Ann Augustin should forego the cigarettes during these concerts. These are family events and smoking, especially by paid village figures, sets a very poor public image of the village and diminishes the performers themselves.
