Got some old gas or other hazardous substance to get rid of?
You’re in luck. The second collection of the 2009 Household Hazardous Waste Program is next weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, the second and last collection of the year for the Household Hazardous Waste Program will take place at the Pleasant Prairie Municipal Center, 8600 Green Bay Road, Pleasant Prairie from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Household hazardous waste items include:
- Household cleaning products.
- Bug sprays.
- Batteries.
- Vehicle fluids.
- Cleaning products.
- Oil-based paints.
- Paint-related products.
- Fluorescent bulbs.
- Pool chemicals.
- Garden/outdoor related products.
“The Kenosha County Household Hazardous Waste Program is a free program and a great opportunity for county, non-city residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste in an environmentally friendly way,” Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser said.
