Dive team, rescue units called to Paddock Lake

This boat sunk in Paddock Lake after being involved in a crash with another vessel Sunday afternoon. No serious injuries were reported.

Salem Fire/Rescue units and the county dive team are being called to Paddock Lake for a boat collision at 3:54 p.m.

One boat may be sinking and there are people in the water, scanner transmissions said.

UPDATE 3:56 p.m.: Private boats are converging on the scene to assist. Five people in water, some with flotation devices. Bristol Fire Department has been called to the scene as well with a boat. Rescue units are staging at the public launch on 238th Ave. The collision is about 150 feet out from shore.

UPDATE 3:58 p.m.: Deputy on the scene says everyone is accounted for.

UPDATE 4:02 p.m.: Some units, incluidng the dive team, are being returned to quarters.

UPDATE: 5:03 p.m.: One injury, bumps and abrasions on leg of a female. It appears one boat was moving and one was standing still. The boat that sunk, the bow of which was partly visible above water, was straight out from the public launch at 68th Street.
