Lakeland American Senior baseball All-Stars will play for the state championship.

Lakeland defeated Menominee Falls American 3-1 on Thursday night. Lakeland advances to the State Championship game on Saturday, August 1, 4:00 pm, Ceniti Park in Verona. They will play the winner of Friday night’s game between Menomonee Falls and Madison West.

“Falls was a tough opponent and a very scrappy team,” sadi Coach Jeff Neave. “We had to fight hard for this one. (coach) Mario (Anichini) and I are very proud of the guys for getting back to the championship game.”

Anthony Anichini, Dalton Sjong and Nick Beyer scored for Lakeland. Jason Gackowski went two for four with a double. Mike Sorensen, Sam Shelton and Sean Flahive also had hits.
