The county Emergency Management Division has announced a severe thunderstorm warning for Kenosha County until 4:30 p.m.

The warning was issued by the  National Weather Service.

Severe thunderstorms are occurring in western Racine County and traveling south east at about 10 mph.

Here’s the text of the warning.

UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: Power is out in my neck of Paddock Lake. This brought to you via laptop battery and wireless broadband.

UPDATE 3:58 p.m.: Power outage might be pretty local. Neighbors across the street seem to have power. Wind was whipping pretty good, but is already calmer. Raining though.

UPDATE 4:04 p.m.: Here’s the radar. Raining harder now in PL.

UPDATE 4:22 p.m.: Power still out here. Very steady rain.

UPDATE 4:31 p.m.: No new warnings from NWS. Rain has stopped in Paddock Lake. Sky clearing to the west and north — or at least is less nasty looking. No power still. Scattered thunderstorms still in forecast for this evening.

UPDATE 4:55 p.m.: Power back on.

UPDATE 5:07 p.m.: Info from We Energies:  There were about 150 customers out of power in Paddock Lake. Earlier, there were about 450 customers out in Raymond and Dover in western Racine County. That number is now down to about 100 customers. Lightning appears to be the main cause.

UPDATE 6:19 p.m.: Sky looks clear and so does the radar.
