The Lakes Area Community Band is the next group up in the Silver Lake Concerts in the Park series this Sunday.
The show begins at 5 p.m. in Schmalfeldt Park.
“When the Lakes Area Community Band appeared here in 2007, the response from the audience was overwhelming,” said Trustee Ann Augustin, chairman of the village Parks Committee. “I heard from so many people requesting that we book then again in 2009.”
The band is directed by Steve Porch and was formed over 17 years ago. It is sponsored by Festival Arts of Antioch.
The bands repertoire features a mixture of patriotic songs, show tunes and classical favorites.
People are reminded to bring chairs or a blanket.
The Silver Lake Rescue Squad also will be selling brats and hot dogs and the fire and rescue auxiliary will be selling soft drinks.
