New wage and benefits agreement between the village of Twin Lakes and its union represented workers have been approved.
The new agreements call for public works/sewer employees and police officers and dispatchers to receive a 2 percent increase in wages retroactive to Jan. 1 of this year and for 2010.
David Cox, village administrator, estimated that the agreements will cost the village approximately $38,000 over the two-year term when compared to 2008 expenditures. However, the village will realize a savings of about $15,000 to $20,000 in 2009 based on the budget approved for this year, which could reduce the deficit or use of borrowed funds.
