Randall officials will stick with regular old retro technology for replacing a blinking warning light on 93rd Street.
The town had considered replacing the signal with a solar powered light, such as is installed on county Highway JI at the Highway F intersection. But Supervisor Mark Halvey said he received a quote of $1,600 for the solar sign, which exceeded the budget the town set for the job of $1,200.
Instead, the board will have Halvey follow-up on an earlier quote of replacing the existing conventional electric service for $645.
The existing service box was not functioning after being hit by a vehicle and then perhaps later a roadside mower.
