Two teenage girls died in a car crash Wednesday evening.

Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies responded at 7:16 p.m. to a report of fatal accident in the Brighton. The single vehicle crash occurred in 29600 block of Highway K (60th Street). Initial reports indicate that a 2003 Jetta was traveling westbound on Highway K when it lost control. The vehicle veered into the right ditch and rolled over. No other vehicles were involved.

There were three occupants in the vehicle. Both the driver and front seat passenger were ejected during the crash and were found deceased at the scene, said Sgt. Gil Benn, Sheriff’s Department spokesman. They were not wearing seat belts.

The rear seat passenger was also injured but remained in the vehicle. She was transported to Aurora Hospital.

All three victims were females between 18 to 19 years old. All are from the Salem and Trevor areas.

The victim’s identities will not be released until family members can be notified.

The accident remains under investigation, Benn said.
