UPDATE: Statement from Sheriff’s Department spokesman added,
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a robbery at a gas station in the 8200 block of Antioch Road (Highway 83), Salem at about 9:50 p.m., Tuesday.
The suspect displayed a black handgun and took money from the register and fled on foot, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. The suspect was last seen going west from the southeast corner of the store. The suspect is described as a male black in his early 20s, 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall about 150-160 pounds. he was wearing a black baseball style cap with no markings, black pull over sweat shirt with no markings, black color jeans with no design on them, black hiking style boots and a handkerchief covering his face from just below his eyes.
Meanwhile, the Twin Lakes Police Department have issued this bulletin about robberies in the region, which was distributed Wednesday by the Twin Lakes Chamber and Business Association.
Are these robberies related? Maybe, says Sgt. Gil Benn of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department:
We are not certain which robberies are related. We suspect some are and detectives from numerous agencies are working their case in hopes to answer that very question. Approximately between 15 and 17 robberies have been reported within a four county area over the past month and a half. That is an unusually high number. Detectives from agencies within Kenosha, Racine ,Walworth, McHenry, and Lake counties are exchanging information and all working hard to resolve their cases.”
