Supporters of passing the upcoming Paris School tax levy referendum are going to be writing large their feelings about the issue.
Volunteers will be gathering Saturday at 14155 12th St. (Highway E, just west of Highway MB) to paint several large “Save Paris School” signs to post around the distinct. Sign painting will begin at 1 p.m. Door-to-door volunteers can also pick up signs at that time to place in supporters’ yards.
The district will be having a referendum on June 9 to authorize exceeding the state imposed revenue limit. If the referendum does not pass, the district has already set in motion the process to dissolve the district. If that goes forward, Paris district students will be absorbed by neighboring districts.
