Sure, it’s raining now, but will  it last?

There’s a decent chance it will, at least today, says the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for rain to continue today until 1 p.m., with patchy fog.  Then a 30 percent chance of rain continues tonight, with a 20 percent chance Thursday. Friday should be clear with a 20 percent chance of rain returning for Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile the increase in rain has the Fox River predicted for a spike in level starting today. Forecasts call for it to get to about the lower level of flood stage — 10 feet — by late Friday, early Saturday. But by Sunday morning it should begin receding again.

At 10 feet, the National Weather Service says typically water is near some homes along Highway W in Salem.
