A 51-year-old Antioch man died in a motorcycle crash at 9:35 p.m., Sunday, in Randall, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The accident was reported by a passing motorist in the 8900 block of county Highway JI (328 Avenue). Deputies discovered a motorcycle had been southbound on Highway JI when it drifted off-road into the west ditch. The lone operator was ejected from the cycle and struck a mailbox.
The victim was transported to Burlington Hospital by rescue, where he was later pronounced dead. There were no witnesses, or other vehicles involved, said Sgt. Gil Benn, Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
The victim’s identity is not being released until family members can be notified, Benn said. The case remains under investigation.
