A trailer loaded with hay bales is on fire in the 12700 block of Highway B (304th Ave.).
Salem Fire/Rescue units are responding at about 5:45 p.m.
The truck that was hauling the trailer has been disconnected from the trailer, scanner transmissions said.
“Huge amount of hay” burning, says a deputy on the scene.
Trailer has an Illinois registration.
