A golf outing to benefit the Edwards family of Bristol — who have been struggling with multiple health problems and the economy — is coming up next weekend.

Angie Edwards has been battling cancer. In the midst of that challenge, Rich Edwards recently had a heart attack.

The outing will be at Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol on May 2. You can sign up a foursome or be paired with other golfers. Registration will be 8 to 9 a.m. with a shot-gun start  at 10 a.m. Format is four-person scramble. Golf entry fee is $100 per person.

Food will be served from 4 p.m. until it runs out and includes pig roast, turkey, ham. hot dogs and hamburgers.

Non-golf activities will include door prizes, silent auction and drawings.

In the evening, the band 4 Lane Hwy will perform country music. Admission to the evening activities are $10 per person at the door and will run from 7 to 11 p.m.

Donations of golf prizes, door prizes, auction items and hole sponsorships are being sought as well.
