Next weekend, Bristol residents will have a chance to refine their cycling safety knowledge and maybe make their bike easier to recover if it ever goes missing.
The Bristol Department of Public Safety will host its first annual bike rode and safety day April 25.
The event is being sponsored by the town Department of Public Safety, the Bristol Fire Department, Southport Rigging, and Kenosha County Deputy Friendly. It will from 10 a.m. to noon at Bristol School 21021 83rd Street.
Professionals will be on hand to conduct safety inspections of bikes and host a rodeo emphasizing safety. Also, the Public Safety Department will be registering bikes owned by Bristol residents free of charge. Adults and children are welcome to register bikes. This registration is voluntary and is a proactive means of identifying bikes if they are lost or stolen.
Call Bristol Town Hall at 857-2368 for more information.
