Most annual town meetings this week

wisconsin-flag

This is a big week for town annual meetings. In Wisconsin these meetings are unique to town governments. They are meetings of the electiors in the town, not the town board. Some of the actions that can be acted on directly by electors at these meetings are levying  taxes, fixing  compensation for town offices and combining town offices. The electors also can direct the town board to take other action such as purchasing land.

Sometimes they are quite interesting. Sometimes they are pretty bland. Depends on the town and the issues that are hot at that time.

Here’s the schedule for West of the I towns. All meetings are at the respective town halls:

Brighton: 7:30 p.m., April 21.

Bristol: 7 p.m., Tuesday.

Paris: 7:30 p.m., Tuesday.

Randall: 8 p.m., Tuesday.

Salem: 7 p.m., Tuesday.

Wheatland: 7 p.m., Tuesday.
