Are you ready for some softball?

The weather this week just might start getting to be fit for outdoor sports. So, you might want to think about getting a softball team together for the April 18 Wisconsin NSA tournament at Lumpy’s Sports Bar & Grill on Highway 83 in Salem.

There’s a $200 entry fee, two-game elimination format, with a 20-team limit.

The tournament organizer supplies the first two softballs; after that teams supply their own. Softballs will be available for purchase at the tournament.

Prize money will be:

  • 1st Place – $700
  • 2nd Place – $350
  • 3rd Place – $200

The prize goes up if more than 10 teams enter. It will not go lower. Money is paid at the end of the tournament in cash.

In addition, first place in each class, gets a World Series and Regional Bid. Second and third place in each class get Regional Bids. Teams must play in the State Championship to validate their berths.

Deadline for entry is April 16 at noon. Instructions for entry are on the Wisconsin NSA web site. Register @ www.PlayNSA.com.

Jim Valentine, who’s getting this event together, asks that everyone that attends a NSA tournament in 2009 bring one item of food to be shared with The Sharing Center in Paddock Lake.
