Tryouts for the Wisconsin Lightning Softball teams for the 2011 will be in August.
Tryouts will take place at Wilmot High School softball fields, 3173 116th St., on the following dates and times:
- Aug. 14 and 15 -- 10U, 9 to 11 a.m.; 12U to 14U, noon to 3 p.m.; 16U to 18U, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Aug. 17 -- 10U 5 to 6:30 p.m.; 12U to 14U 5 to

Wisconsin Lightning 10U Black won the NSA State Tournament this past weekend in Middleton, for the second year in a row.
Lightning went undefeated in the tournament. The team won against Fox River Rush, Racine Belles and Wisconsin Lightning 10U Silver.

Wisconsin Lightning Fastpitch is hosting its annual NSA Qualifying “Battle of the Borders” girl’s fast pitch softball tournament at Central High School’s Sorenson Fields, Salem Grade School and Wilmot High School this weekend.
Over 56 teams, from Wisconsin and Illinois, will be competing in 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age groups on June 25, 26 and 27.

Wisconsin Lightning 10U Black went 6-0 and won the Beloit Early Bird Tournament May 14 to 16. They started with a win Friday night against SYA Fury, then Saturday took two more wins over Bordertown Bandits and Stateline Starz. The Wisconsin Lightning struck early and often in the 14U National Softball Association "B" World Series Softball Championship this week in Merrillville, Ind.
The Lightning finished far ahead of the other 80 teams in the 14U brackets with 56 runs to their opponents 16 and a 9-0 record to bring home the trophy as World Series Champs.
