Road Report: Some snow sticking to roads
I just got back from driving in from Whitewater from about 6:50 to 7:50 p.m. Snow was falling all of that time, heavier in some patches. There was little to no snow on the road until I got to Highway 50 and B.
Less than inch of snow expected today
It’s snowing again, but don’t panic. The National Weather Service expects less than an inch of accumulation today and less than an half-inch tonight. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday we might see highs in the mid 50s!

Winter storm warning issued for late Friday afternoon
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Friday starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Friday and Friday night, the forecast calls for as much as 2 to 6 inches of snow accumulation in Western Kenosha County.

At about 6:20 a.m., it’s foggy out the window of westofthei.com headquarters. Deputies are referring to foggy conditions as well on the scanner. Temperatures are expected to get into the high 40s today, with a 50 percent chance of more rain.

At westofthei.com headquarters, we measured about 2 inches for today’s snowfall from about 8:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. Temps are going to plunge tonight and the wind pick up. A National Weather Service forecast says temps will get into the single digits tonight and not crack 20 Saturday. Wind chills could be between -9 and zero.

Snow showers this morning could accumulate to an inch on the ground, the National Weather Service says. Temperatures will remain better than average in the mid 30s.
Dense fog advisory issued for area
The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for an area that includes Kenosha County. The advisory will be in effect until noon. Visibilities of less than a quarter mile may develop. Dense fog in areas where the temperature is below freezing could form frost on untreated roads, the advisory says.
High temperature to top 50 today

The latest info (as of 3:54 a.m.) from the National Weather Service now has a possible accumulation of snow for today and tonight at 3 to 6 inches. “Near the Illinois border” is where they are saying the heaviest snow will fall. Winter weather advisory in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service has canceled a winter storm watch for Friday and replaced it with a winter storm advisory. The new snow accumulation forecast for this Friday is now 2 to 4 inches.
