Man killed in one car crash Monday

A 59-year-old man died in a one-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Trevor. A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department identified the man as Kelly B. Covelli. Sgt. Death penalty ban sought for man accused in slaying of Trevor woman

Attorneys for James Ealy, the man accused of murdering Trevor resident Mary Hutchinson, are seeking to bar the state of Illinois from seeking the death penalty in his case, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting. Ealy is accused of murdering Hutchinson at the Lindenhurst, Ill. fast food restaurant where she worked as a manager.

Two-car crash at Highways JF and C

At 5:21 p.m., deputies are responding to a two-vehicle crash at Highways JF and C in Trevor. No injuries are reported, according to radio transmissions.

Trevor man dies after fall from tree

Dale Simek, a tree worker from Trevor, died after falling from a tree in a Milwaukee suburb today, the Associated Press is reporting. Police said it appears Simek suffered fatal traumatic injuries from the 42 foot fall.
