Construction projects on Highway 50 beginning

Wondering what all of those orange barrels on Highway50 are for? Here's the lowdown from the state Department of Transportation:
  • County P intersection, Wheatland, from July 1 to Nov. 15. Reconstruct of a high speed four-lane signalized intersection, with added turn lanes, new signals and lighting. Cost: $710,000
  • 376th Avenue to 256th Avenue, from July 14 to Oct. 11. Pavement replacement, signing, pavement marking, bridge deck overlays

Highway 45 construction project begins today

Work on Highway 45 from Highway 50 north to Highway 11 in Union Grove began today. The project will include milling of two-inches of asphalt and placing two-inches of new asphalt, said state Department of Transportation spokesman Dennis Shook. Randall may undertake major road program

Randall is set to take on major maintenance of town roads that would cost about $490,000 a year for five years after action at last week's Town Board meeting. Highway B open again at Highway 50

Highway B has been reopened at its intersection with Highway 50. But the new traffic signals installed at the intersection are still dark. The project, which started in July, reconfigured the intersection with more structured turn lanes and installed the lights. Work there was supposed to be done in November, but was delayed by poor soil conditions and weather, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation has said.
