Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast to benefit The Sharing Center

They won’t be dying the pancakes green nor serving green orange juice, but the Knights of Columbus, Council 8108, in collaboration with the La Salette Missionaries, will kick off St. Patrick’s Day on March 14 with a pancake breakfast and food drive to benefit the Sharing Center of Paddock Lake. Randall will seek to negotiate sharing a building inspector with Twin Lakes, after action taken Thursday night. Mary Ellen Close is dog park’s benefactor

The person behind a $12,500 donation to the effort to bring two off-leash dog parks to Kenosha County is anonymous no longer. Mary Ellen Close, the former longtime director of the Community Library, is making the donation, said Jonathon Rudie, general manager, Kenosha County Division of Parks. In exchange, the park will be named in honor of  Warren Close, Mary Ellen's father.

Randall still debating building inspector contract

Randall will go a little longer before approving an agreement with its independent contractor building inspector. Approving a new contract with inspector David Sturdevant was tabled again Thursday, as it has been at several recent Town Board meetings. Randall will keep overpayments of property tax bills of $5 or less, after an ordinance adopted Thursday. Supervisor suggests skating on Lake Benedict be explored

Supervisor Rose Nolan said she was approached by a constituent with the request for the town to create an ice skating area. Zuckowski Memorial Ice Derby coming to Benedict and Tombeau Feb. 6

The Mike Zukowski Memorial Ice Derby will take place on lakes Benedict and Tombeau, Saturday, Feb. 6 from 7 a.m. to noon. Why not parking fees for ice fishermen?

Why are boaters charged launch fees to use the Department of Natural Resources launch on Powers Lake and not people who park in the same lot to ice fish on the lake? At 12:28 p.m., units from Randall Fire Department and Twin Lakes Rescue are responding to a report of a car on fire at 104th Street and 400th Avenue, Randall. Rescue, fire departments busy with multiple calls

From about 3:15 to 3:30 p.m., Randall and Twin Lakes fire and rescue personnel were busy responding to calls:
  • An injured skier at Wilmot Mountain. A skier hit his head hard enough to crack a helmet, but apparently not seriously injured.

Santa had quite a presence in Randall this weekend. On Saturday, with help from the Randall Fire Department. Sheriff’s Department gives notice of sex offender release

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department is making notification of the release of convicted sex offender John A. Butterbrodt into Western Kenosha County. Butterbrodt was convicted of  first degree sexual assault of a child. He was placed in the community last week, after having been released from prison earlier this month. New Mattel Toy Store in Wilmot opens

Today was the grand opening for the new Mattel Toy Store in Wilmot. The store is located in the building that used to house the Gander Mountain Outlet on 125th Street.
