Randall to replace water patrol boats

“After Dark in the Park” set for Silver Lake Park

Kenosha County Parks is hosting an "After Dark in the Park"  at Silver Lake Park, Area 6/Beach, on Aug. 20.

The event includes an evening of camping, a bonfire and an outdoor movie showing of "WALL-E."

Silver Lake trustee pitches in on poop patrol

Recent rainy weather has had the unpleasant effect of washing a lot of geese waste from Silver Lake onto DeWitt Park beach. With the village Public Works Department already short-handed, Trustee Chris Willkomm decided Thursday to take the matter into his own hands. Well not exactly his hands, but you get the idea. Seno receives Wisconsin Environmental Education Board grant

The Seno Woodland Education Center has been awarded a grant by the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) to offer expanded programming to Boy Scouts and landowners in Racine and Kenosha counties. The $19,357 grant will provide training to 60 Boy Scout leaders from the Southeast Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and 20 woodland owners from southeast Wisconsin. The 8th annual No Joke at Bristol Oaks Golf Outing will take place June 11. The event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Westosha Kiwanis Club. It is organized by the Kiwanis Club. County Executive Jim Kreuser cut the ribbon on the new 18 hole Grey Fox disc golf course in Fox River Park this morning. Ribbon cut for Salem Community Park

The new Salem Community Park saw its official coming out Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony overseen by town officials. The park, under development for much of last year, includes structured areas such as a playground, softball fields and pavilion with rest rooms but also a natural area. It was a good day for tree planting at the Seno Woodland Education Center in Wheatland Sunday morning.
