Lakewood Girl Scouts, Troop 7286, will be hosting a spaghetti dinner, Saturday, Jan. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The dinner will be held in the cafeteria at Lakewood School, Twin Lakes.
Ticket prices are:
- Adults $6
- Children 4-12 - $4
- Children 3 and under free
There will also be a bake sale.
Proceeds from the sale will help fund a trip to Savannah, Georgia over spring break for some girls…

While there are hundreds of projects included in the Education Building exhibit at the Kenosha County Fair, a few are selected each year for special recognition. Those winners gathered Sunday at the Education building in recognition of their awards.
Here are the education Building's Best of the Best for 2009:
- Pre-kindergarten: Tyee Simek, Riverview School, and Cantin Schiler, Westosha.
- Kindergarten: Josh Donnellan, Wheatland Center School, and Leonardo Cordova, Paris School.
- First and second grades

Three individuals -- two with Western Kenosha County ties -- were sworn in Monday as members of the Gateway Technical College District Board of Trustees.
R. Scott Pierce is a newly appointed board member, Roger Zacharias is a returning board member after a one-year absence, and Rebecca Vail was reappointed to her seat. The three were appointed to three-year terms to run from 2009-12. Zacharias served on the board 2004-08.

Twin Lakes held its annual Memorial Day ceremony and parade Monday.
Joseph M. Nilles, commander of American Legion Post 544, summed up the meaning of the day at the ceremony following the parade at Legion Park:
