Lakeland Legends Fastpitch Travel Softball team try-outs have been scheduled.
Tryouts will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Central High School's Sorenson Fields, located on Highway 83 south of Highway 50.
In case of rain or bad weather, tryouts will be held on Sunday, Aug. 29. The schedule by age group is:
- 14U Tryout - 10 a.m.
- 12U Tryout - 11:30 a.m.
- 10U Tryout - 1

Lakeland Little League Junior Softball Team is at the Central Regional tournament in Elyria, Ohio and will start playing pool play games on Saturday Aug. 7.
The pool play schedule is:
- Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. vs. Hillsboro R-3 LL, Hillsboro, MO.
- Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. vs. River Forest Youth LL, River Forest, IL.
- Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. vs South Bend Southeast LL

This past weekend, the Lakeland Little League Junior Girls captured the district softball tournament earning them the right to represent the state of Wisconsin in the regional tournament in Elyria, Ohio Aug. 6-11.
The winner of that tournament will get to participate in the softball Little League World Series held in Kirkland, Washington .

Last Saturday was a wet opening weekend for Lakeland Little League's baseball divisions, which were rained out.
This Saturday it's Lakeland Softball's turn for opening day as the first games of the season are scheduled to take place with the Minors Girls Division.
The Panthers will face the Cougars at Sorenson Fields #1 and the Mustangs will meet the Lions at Sorenson Fields #2. Both games start at 9…

Baseball (ages 5-18) and fast pitch softball (ages 6-18) registration fees are:
- $125 for Minor League and above.
- $75 for Instructional Leagues.
On-site registration will take place Thursday, Jan. 28, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Central High School cafetorium.

There will be open gym for any Lakeland Little League players starting Sunday, Jan. 17 and continuing Jan. 17, 24, 31 and Feb. 7.
The open gyms are (by location and level):
Central High School
- Softball open gym, noon to 2 p.m.
- Baseball instructional league (5-6 year olds) and baseball AA league (7-8 year olds) 2 to 4 p.m.
Wilmot High School

To be eligible, players must be playing in the regular Lakeland season. All Lakeland players are invited to try out for this team, especially if they are interested in playing at another level.

Lakeland Little League will be holding their fall ball registration this Saturday, Aug., 15, at Riverview Grade School in Silver Lake, between 9 a.m. and noon.
