Lakeland Little League will have fall ball for all ages in both baseball and softball.

Lakeland Seniors advance to state championship round
The Lakeland Seniors baseball team has battled their way to the state championship game late this week.
Friday night Lakeland dropped a game to Verona, 7 to 1. But they came back strong in the losers bracket by defeating Menominee Falls this afternoon, 16 to 2.

The Lakeland American Senior baseball team captured the District 6 crown Monday and advanced to the state tournament in Madison, starting July 29.
In the double elimination tournament they lost their first game to Franklin National 12-8. They then won 5 straight games coming through the losers bracket to face Franklin National for the championship and beat them 2 games in a row 4 to 1 on… Continue reading
Lakeland baseball 9-10 year olds win district title
The Lakeland Little League 9-10 year old baseball team won the District 6 Championship in Burlington Thursday by beating Franklin American by a score of 11 to 8.

Lakeland still in hunt at District 6 tournament
District 6 Little League baseball tournament tournament play continues today at 1 p.m. at Brighton Dale Fields, # 1-Burnett Family Field, between Lakeland and Burlington.
Lakeland has come up through the losers bracket and would have to beat Burlington today and again tomorrow to win the tournament, said Kerry Burnett, Lakeland information officer.
The winner of this tournament moves on to the state tournament.

Lakeland to host district Majors tournament
Lakeland Little League will host the District # 6 Major Baseball tournament starting this weekend at the Brightondale Diamonds.
The first games start on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Teams of local interest include Lakeland, Burlington, Kenosha American and Kenosha National.

The host team took the title in the Lakeland Little League Memorial Day Baseball Tournament May 29 through 30 at Brightondale fields.
Lakeland was undefeated in the tournament:
- They beat Rampage 4-1.
- Beat Union Grove 8-3.
- Beat Pleasant Prairie Predators 3-1.
- Beat Burlington 2-1.
- Beat Franklin Killer Bees 9-7 in the championship game.

Game get started at Brightondale Fields at 9 a.m. From personal experience, let me say that a cheeseburger from the concession stand makes a tasty breakfast if you're there for a 9 a.m. game.

Still time to register for Lakeland baseball, softball
There is still time to register for Lakeland Little League's 56th season.
Baseball (ages 5-18) and fast pitch softball (ages 6-18) registration fees are:
- $125 for Minor League and above.
- $75 for Instructional Leagues.
Lakeland baseball, softball open gyms to start Sunday
There will be open gym for any Lakeland Little League players starting Sunday, Jan. 17 and continuing Jan. 17, 24, 31 and Feb. 7.
The open gyms are (by location and level):
Central High School
- Softball open gym, noon to 2 p.m.
- Baseball instructional league (5-6 year olds) and baseball AA league (7-8 year olds) 2 to 4 p.m.
Wilmot High School
- Baseball AAA league (9-10

Managers and coaches forms for Lakeland Little League baseball and softball are now being accepted for the 2010 season.

Lakeland Little League will be holding their fall ball registration this Saturday, Aug., 15, at Riverview Grade School in Silver Lake, between 9 a.m. and noon.
The cost is $20 per player. Boys ages 6-15 and girls 12 and under are eligible.

Lakeland Seniors baseball team fell short in its bid to win the state championship Saturday, losing to Madison West 7 to 1. The teams played in Verona.
"We had a successful season, and even though we lost today, we ended on a positive note," said Coach Jeff Neave Lakeland hitting: Three hits - Mike Sorensen, Sam Shelton, Jason Gackowski. Lakeland pitching:- Dalton Sjong - 3 innings, 2 hits, 1 strikeout.

State tournament in Brighton ends with West Madison victory
West Madison is the 2009 Wisconsin Littel League Majors State champion after they defeated Glendale 5 -2 at Brightondale Ball Park in Brighton Friday night. West Madison will go on to the regional tournament in Indianapolis. If they keep on winning, they could end up in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. Lakeland American Senior baseball All-Stars will play for the state championship.
Lakeland defeated Menominee Falls American 3-1 on Thursday night. Lakeland advances to the State Championship game on Saturday, August 1, 4:00 pm, Ceniti Park in Verona. They will play the winner of Friday night's game between Menomonee Falls and Madison West.

Semi finals play in State Majors Little League Tournament
Rain delayed the start, but the games got played in the semi-final round of the State Majors Little League Tournament Thursday at Brightondale Ball Park, Brighton.
District 4 (Madison area) champ West Madison American defeated District 6 (Franklin area) champ Franklin National 8 to 7.
District 1 (Milwaukee North and West suburbs) champ Glendale edged District 3 (Eau Claire area) Lowes Creek in 7 innings 5 to 4.

Lakeland Seniors win first game at state
Lakeland Seniors baseball team took the first game of the Seniors State Tournament with a 6-5 victory over West Madison American Wednesday evening.
Luke Podella drove in Sam Shelton with the game winning run with a sharp single in the bottom of the seventh.
"Dalton Sjong was very strong on the mound," said Coach Jeff Neave. "Defense committed zero errors,"

Little League State Majors Tournament play got underway Saturday afternoon at Lakeland Little League's baseball complex at Brightondale County Park.
There is not a Lakeland team in the tournament but there was still plenty of local pride in hosting the prestigious event.
