Salem UMC to host Smorgasbord supper March 7
Salem United Methodist Church will hold its annual Smorgasbord supper on Sunday, March 7 from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
Prices are: $7 for adults, 14 years and older; $5 for seniors, 60 years and older; $5 for children, ages 3 to 13. Children under 3 eat free. Tickets are available ahead of time or at the door. Take-out and local delivery are available.

Providence School to host bingo
Providence Catholic School is hosting Bingo on Saturday, Feb. 20.
Doors open at 4 p.m., with Bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Providence-West Campus, 1714 240th Ave. (Highway X), next to St. Francis Xavier Church, Brighton.
Cash rizes will be awarded for all 20 games including the last game, which is the jackpot blackout game.

Wondering when the live nativity at Oakvue Farms could be seen on Friday and Saturdya night? Sorry about that, I omitted the times in my original post (now corrected). A showing starts at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. both tonight and Saturday. The farm is located at 14700 104th St. (Highway Q) about 1.5 miles west of the Interstate 94.

First Christian Church collecting for The Sharing Center
First Christian Church will be collecting donations of food and money for The Sharing Center on Oct. 18.
The church has committed to helping and partnering with The Sharing Center. October is a slow time for donations and the shelves at the center are low.

The public is invited to join the church's youth group members for a night of laughter, singing and fellowship.

Salem United Methodist Church to kick-off Sunday school
Salem United Methodist Church, 25130 85th St., Salem will be having their Sunday School program kick-off on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Classes will be held for pre-kindergarten through adult. This year's theme is "All Stars for Jesus".
Worship services times are:
- Traditional at 8:30 a.m.
- Contemporary at 11 a.m.
St. John the Baptist Church marks 150 years
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paris celebrated 150 years of existence today with mass and other events.
The church had a distinguished visitor to help with the celebration -- Most Reverend William Callahan, auxiliary bishop of the Milwaukee Archdiocese.

Bristol UMC to host brat roast this weekend
Bristol United Methodist Church will host its annual Brat Roast, Rummage and Bake Sale on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Grilled brats, burgers and hot dogs will be available as well as an array of home-made baked goods and other treats.

The congregation at Salem United Methodist Church said good-bye today to their pastor of the last 15 years -- Joe Mitchell.
Mitchell has been reassigned to pastor at two churches in Sturgeon Bay, Door County. He will be succeeded at Salem UMC by Grace Cajiuat, who officially takes over July 1.
